Workshop Schedule

Part 1: The Principles of Social Media Marketing

We will start with the basic principles of Social Media Marketing. Social Media Marketing works differently from traditional broadcast media. Treating it as a traditional marketing and advertising approach will not yield the results you would expect and could damage your online reputation. We will discuss the difference of 'push and pull' marketing and introduce the concept of social proof. Understanding the key differences in Social Media Marketing and traditional forms of marketing are key elements to the success of a campaign.

Part 2: How to Set-Up and Optimise Your Social Media Accounts

Part 2 covers account creation and customisation. This is step-by-step guidance for people absolutely new to Social Media and also for people who already have Social Media accounts, but want to take those accounts to the next level. This module gets you started on the right foot and makes sure you begin your Social Media journey with a solid foundation.

Part 3: Monitoring the Conversation and Content

In this section we will be showing you little known industry tips and tricks in order for you to monitor online conversations with little effort and how to use these online conversations as part of your Social Media strategy. We will also show you how to manage your schools online reputation by monitoring what others are saying about you.

We will discuss the types of content you can and should create, reuse, and publish via the multiple social media outlets available to you.

Finally, we will discuss how to create a community of loyal engaging members.

Part 4: Goal Setting, Strategy, and a Social Media Policy

"The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score". In this module we will discuss the importance of setting goals and evaluating performance. We will help you develop your strategy and discuss how we develop and follow such a plan.

Social Media is not just the responsibility of the Marketing Director; the whole school can and should contribute to the creation of content and be involved in the open dialogue. We will provide you with the necessary material so you can develop an internal communication strategy and Social Media policy.
